OOTD: Spring Fever

Ok, so the sun is teasing me. Earlier this week, it was sunny and (kind of) warm, so I had the chance to wear a couple of my summer dresses - with jackets of course. But now it's back to rain and clouds! I did, however, take a couple of snaps of my outfits I wore!

 Dress: Forever 21
Jacket: Nordstrom
Shoes: Converse

My necklace was actually a gift - it's a little letter and actually opens! Haha it's one of my favorites :)

I was seriously so excited to wear this dress finally after so many cold months! It's supposed to be sunny again this coming weekend, so we'll see how that turns out!

How is the weather where you live? Are you excited for spring?!

Thanks for reading, and have a great day! :)

Best Dressed: Oscars 2015

There are so many beautiful gowns (and tuxedos in the men's case!) this year at the Oscars, so here are my personal favorites!

Emma Stone's dress is without a doubt my personal favorite of the night! She always looks so gorgeous, and that is no different this year! I absolutely love this gown from Elie Saab, and Emma Stone wears it so well!

Reese Witherspoon also looks gorgeous in her clean cut gown from Tom Ford.

I think Chris Pratt and Anna Faris make one of Hollywood's cutest couples, and they both looked so stunning! Anna Faris looks especially gorgeous in her gown from Zuhair Murad, and they compliment each other so well!

Jennifer Lopez also looks so pretty in her gown from Elie Saab! She doesn't let the dress wear her at all, which would be difficult given it's train!

I really like how clean cut, yet soft, Gwyneth Paltrow's dress is from Ralph & Russo. At first I wasn't too keen on the shoulder flower, but I actually think it adds just the right amount of detail and flourish!

I absolutely love Oprah's gown from Vera Wang! She looks so happy in this particular picture, and I think the design on the midsection of the dress is so flattering!

Can we just appreciate how gorgeous Lupita Nyong'o always looks?! Her dress is from Calvin Klein, and I don't think it could be any more perfect!

Blush pink and lighter colors seem to be really popular at the Oscars this year, but I love how Zoe Saldana's dress is accessorized! The dress is from Atelier Versace, but I think the simple necklace really helps the dress shine!

I absolutely adore this dress from Yves Saint Laurent that Margot Robbie is wearing! It's so flowy and gorgeous, and she looks stunning in black!

Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka both look so handsome! They are also one of my favorite Hollywood couples - they have the cutest family!

Keira Knightly is rocking it on the Red Carpet with her gown from Valentino, and her baby bump! She is seriously a vision of spring! I adore the whimsical floral design.

I mean, does anything need to be said about Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum? They make such a stunning couple, and Jenna looks breathtaking in her Zuhair Murad gown!

I love how Jennifer Hudson looks in her yellow gown from Romona Keveza - the color looks so great on her!

ChloĆ« Grace Moretz's dress from Miu Miu is so pretty! I love the print and style of it, and it has pockets!! Imagine how useful that is at the Oscars!

How cute are Andy Samberg and Joanne Newsom?! Her dress is from Honor, and I love the flowers on the bodice!

Last but not least, Gina Rodriguez looks so gorgeous in this eco-friendly gown! She was asked by Suzy Amis Cameron to represent her Red Carpet Green Dress campaign, and I think it's so awesome!!

Alright, well these are some of my favorites from the Oscars 2015! There were so many other stunningly dressed actors this year, but I of course couldn't include them all!

Who do you think was the best dressed at the Oscars?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a great day! :)

My Work Space

I came across a company called WeWork, a coworking company, which basically provides space and a community for creators! They have a really cool concept, so that inspired me to do a post about my own work space! I also recently did a dorm room tour on my YouTube channel, so I'll link that at the end, too! :)

So this is what my desk looks like as a whole! I do my homework here, and a lot of my writing for blog posts here as well!

Here's a closer view of underneath the shelf.

Here's my little fox plant holder! Sadly, there is no plant in it anymore because it died...

I absolutely adore my little pencil and pen holder!

Another closer look underneath the shelf!

My little desk shelf is also home to my beta fish, Khaleesi! She is a "dragon scale beta," so for all of you Game of Throne fans out there, you get the reference!

This calendar is on the wall adjacent to my desk, so I can keep track of important dates!

This is a quote that's also on the wall next to my desk! I got it as a graduation present from my parents, and I love it so much! It's a great reminder to keep working hard at the things I love :)

This quote is on the wall as well! Haha it was actually a graduation from my gift from my parents as well...

This little cozy corner is my bed! I actually end up doing a lot of my homework on my bed when it's been a long day, and I just need to curl up with my Pooh Bear pillow pet :) I also edit a lot of my YouTube videos on my bed!

Here's a closer look at "the wall," as my friends call it haha.

My little cozy corner :)

Alright, there you have it - my work space and dorm room tour! :) I'm really proud of how my dorm room turned out this year, so I hope you guys like it too!

What's your favorite part of your room?

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great day! :)

Healthy snacks: Greek Yogurt Parfait

It's time for another addition to my healthy snacks series! Today I'm going to be sharing with you guys one of my obsessions - greek yogurt parfaits!

I absolutely love eating this whenever I need an afternoon pick-me-up, or honestly anytime I'm's just so yummy!!

Start off by putting about 3 or 4 spoonfuls of plain greek yogurt into the bottom of your bowl. You can put as much or as little as you would like!

Drizzle some honey over the yogurt, and mix it together until it's smooth.

With whatever berries you would like (I always use blueberries and strawberries, but you can use as many or as little kinds of berries you please), wash them and layer them over the yogurt!

If you use strawberries like I did, I would suggest slicing them up into smaller pieces!

Layer some more yogurt over the berries, and repeat the process of drizzling and mixing the honey in!

Put some more berries on top, and then sprinkle on some granola! I personally love the granola from Kind because it is not only good for you (and gluten free!), but it tastes amazing!

JUST LOOK HOW PRETTY. Looking at these pictures makes me want to eat some now...even though I had some already today...

Alright, there you have it - greek yogurt parfait! This is my personal take on this pretty common recipe, but there's so many more combinations you can do! I've found a lot of different recipes that I want to try out, so stay tuned for them!

What do you like to eat greek yogurt with?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! :)

Face of the Day: Hints of Pink

My classes this quarter are honestly really great - on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I don't have class until 12:30, and on Tuesday and Thursday I start class at 9:30. Consequently, I look much more put together on the days that I start at 12:30! This look is from one of the days when I actually got up in a timely manner, so I felt like putting on some eyeshadow!

I used my Naked 3 palette to create this look - I wanted a subtle smokey eye with pink tones so it wouldn't look so dramatic for daytime! :)

I really like how this look came out because it was perfect for looking just a bit more put together for classes. And, I've really been wanting to use my Naked 3 palette more!

I also had some time to do my hair! I've really been loving braids lately because they're so easy to do with any hairstyle.

What is your go-to daytime makeup look?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a great day! :)

Healthy Snacks: Avocado Chocolate Pudding

I'm back again today with my Healthy Snack series!
I don't know about you guys, but chocolate pudding is definitely one of my weaknesses! Ever since I was little I have loved those little pudding cups that my mom would put in my lunch, but being gluten free these past couple of years, I've had to avoid pudding! There isn't any wheat on the ingredients list of most puddings, but some people who are allergic to gluten - like myself - have said that it sometimes causes a reaction when they eat it. So, in order to avoid all of that, I just haven't really eaten pudding!
However, since starting this healthy snacks series, I actually found a chocolate pudding recipe that uses avocados as the base! I was kind of skeptical at first because I really don't like avocados, but the end result was super yummy!

All of the ingredients you will need, minus the milk because I forgot to put it in this picture...

2 ripe avocados
1/3 cup cocoa powder (I ended up putting in about a tablespoon extra at the end)
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup milk (almond or soy works too!)
1  1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

The whole process is super easy - just peal the avocados and cut them into chunks, put them in the blender, add everything else, and blend! As you can see, I used my magic bullet for this, and everything barely fit! I don't really have the luxury of having a full sized blender at college, though, so I use my magic bullet a lot!

Funny story - I could not get the cup open after I blended it! I needed to simply open it real quick in order to stir the last bits of avocado around, but the lid would not budge. I had to go and get one of the guys on my floor to open it for me! Apparently magic bullets double as vacuums now.

The end result! When I first tried the pudding, it had a very different flavor, but I got used to it after the third or fourth bite! I absolutely hate avocados, so I was extremely weary of trying this, but oh my gosh it is super yummy! It doesn't taste exactly like classic chocolate pudding, but it is still just as great. I was super satisfied with the results, and I could have a quick little dessert each night this week without feeling guilty!

Well that is it for this recipe - you guys should really try this one out if you love chocolate! Also, I'm going to try and do a more "savory" snack for the next one since the first two in the series have been sweet.

What are your guilty pleasures when it comes to dessert?

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great day! :)

Why It's Great Being Single on Valentine's Day

It's that time of year again, where all the single ladies (see what I did there) lament and complain about how they don't have a special someone in their lives. Well, I'm here to tell you that being single on Valentine's Day is kind of the best thing ever!

1. You can spend the whole day with your girlfriends.
(This is from the show Parks and Recreation, a.k.a. one of my favorite shows)

When you're in a relationship, sometimes it's hard to make time for your closest girlfriends; so since you're single on this day that can be very lonely for people not in relationships, spend the day with your friends! You can make each other feel better about not being in a relationship, and chances are, you'll have a much more fun day with all of them than you ever would with some guy.

2. If you want to stay in and do nothing all day, go right ahead!
My Valentine's day will most likely be spent doing exactly this, and I really have no shame about it. The beauty of not having to impress a date is, you can wear your baggiest clothes. All. Day. You don't have anyone to dress up for (except of course for yourself!), so make the most of it on this day and just don't try at all. And watch Netflix all day.

3. Treat Yourself.
(Please tell me some of you guys watch this show)

This is also known as "Treat. Yo. Self." Go out and buy all of the things that a significant other would buy you: jewelry, a nice dinner, a manicure/pedicure, or anything else you might want! This day is all about love, so why not love yourself! It's perfectly healthy to focus solely on yourself for one day, and being single on Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse!

4. You don't have to spend hours getting ready for the night.
With all that time you're saving by not having to get ready for a date, spend it doing something you love. Or, spend it on the couch watching those three extra episodes of Friends (or Parks and Rec because you all should watch it...I promise this post isn't sponsored by this show)

5. Think of all the money you're saving.
By being single, you don't have to go out and get an elaborate gift for anyone, or spend money on a date! Just think of all the better uses that money could go towards, like chocolate, ice cream, movies, popcorn, new comfy pajamas....

Well there you have it, five great reasons why being single on Valentine's Day is basically the best thing ever! But on a more serious note, don't worry if you're not in a relationship because you don't need to depend on anyone else to have your own happiness! Don't let a day that pretty much celebrates couples bring you down if you aren't in a relationship, because there's really nothing wrong with that! When it's the right time for you to be in a relationship, and you find a great person to be in one with, it will happen! You guys are all perfect just the way you are (this just got real cheesy, real fast, I apologize.)

Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a great day! :)
